July 20th 2015
A very hot and humid summer day. The temperature was in the high nineties but it felt a lot hotter. Gil and I spent the majority of the day inside except when Jack had to go out.
July has been a lot of fun so far. We visited Kim in Philly on sixth and seventh and had a wonderful time. On Monday, we visited Philly seeing Independence Hall, the liberty bell the Betsy Ross House and Christ Church where the fathers of our country all attended and where Betsy Ross married her third husband. Benjamin Franklin is buried in the old Christ Church cemetery. Kim took us to lunch at the City Tavern, it is another historical building being a tavern and inn during that time. We took a driving tour of the city and Kim showed us city hall, the library with the famous Rocky steps, the hospital where she works, and the harbor. We ended the day with a Philly cheese steak sub at Pat's.
The next day found us at the Deleware Crossing and Valley Forge. What excitement we felt visiting such historic places.
